At the helm of our operations is Master Mariner Sean Poole. With 18 years of experience working on cruise ships, drill ships and in shipyards, Sean brings an incredible amount of knowledge and skills to the Hullo crew.
He’s successfully led a fleet of 130 marine assets and spearheaded the design and construction of a state-of-the-art simulation centre – just to name a few of the amazing projects he’s worked on!
Sean’s committed to helping mariners advance their careers and currently sits on the Board of Directors at BCIT’s Alumni Association.
Working in the marine industry almost seems like fate for Sean, with four generations of mariners in his family starting with his great-grandfather.
With his outstanding contributions to the maritime industry, we’re proud to have Sean lead the crew in delivering a safe, reliable, and friendly ferry service to all guests.

As a Deckhand on our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and comfort of our guests while also contributing to the overall success of our company.
Your day-to-day duties will include operating and maintaining ship’s safety equipment, handling lines, assisting with emergency duties, keeping lookout on the bridge, managing deck cleaning and ship’s husbandry, performing vessel maintenance, providing food service, and interacting with guests both onboard and in the terminals.
Day-to-day, our Captains will lead their crew in providing a reliable, efficient, and friendly service while also working to proactively identify opportunities to improve the company’s service standards and performance. This is an exciting and fast-paced opportunity for ambitious, experienced captains who will have a meaningful voice in designing and optimizing our service, directly impacting on the success of the company and its culture.
Day-to-day, our Chief Engineers will diligently prepare for sailing, monitor systems for optimal performance, bunkering, and proactively identify opportunities to improve the company’s performance standards. This is an opportunity for ambitious and experienced engineers to work aboard two brand new, state-of-the-art, purpose-built Damen 4212 high speed (fast ferry) vessels, each supported by 4 engines. Our vessels include Damen’s award-winning Triton IoT platform which monitors and provides regular updates on systems and overall vessel health. Hullo’s Chief Engineers will be responsible for the safe and continuous operation of the engine department and systems of the vessel. Chief Engineers are the champion of safety culture, and ensure our vessels are performing at their best.
